$199,983 | August Net Worth Update

What’s up guys!

I’ve got another monthly net worth update for you. Despite my best efforts this month, my net worth actually went up again (haha). Check out my previous monthly net worth posts if you’d like to learn more about my journey.

August 2021 Net Worth: $199,983 (+$2,799)

  • Cash: $16,473.41 (-$1,347.98)
    • Checking Account: $3,488.41
    • High-Yield Savings: $12,985.00
  • Investments: $170,480.48 (+$3,306.87)
    • Work 401(k): $88,444.69
    • Roth IRA: $53,232.61
    • HSA: $20,639.67
    • Taxable Brokerage Accounts: $8,163.51
  • Cryptocurrency: $14,143.02 (+$2,102.23)
    • Bitcoin: $11,612.99
    • Ethereum: $2,494.04
    • Dogecoin, Litecoin, Uniswap + Chainlink: $35.99
  • Debt: (-$1,143.46)
    • Credit Card Debt: $1,143.46

Don’t worry guys, my credit card debt is on a 0% APR card so I’m not paying any interest on it. I’ve just been hit with some weird cost-timing for wedding stuff. I’m taking advantage of the non-interest payments though and don’t expect to carry this debt for more than a few months.

I’m shaking up my go-forward strategy a bit next month. I’m going to divest a bit from my stock investments in my taxable account and move that money into ethereum. I’ve been doing a lot of research over the last few months about ethereum and I feel good about this decision for my personal investment situation. I feel like the risk/reward there is massive and I can tolerate the risk level of cryptos accounting for about 12% of my overall investment portfolio.

I hope you guys enjoyed this net worth update – I’ve still got a while to go before I reach financial independence, but I’m starting to get to the point to where my investment gains are on pace to rival the income generated from my salary. What a cool feeling that will be the first year that that’s the case.

Are your guys’ net worths looking good lately? I hope so with the market being up!

Until next time.
